About
Julie Johns
M.S., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM), M.Ed.
Julie is founder of Boost Acupuncture. Julie earned her Masters of Science in Acupuncture from Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in April 2015. The three-year program consists of 2,265 hours of education, including 525 hours of clinical intern practice. Julie’s training includes adjunctive therapies such as moxibustion, tui na, cupping, auriculotherapy, and dietary and lifestyle recommendations. Julie has completed the 60 hour Acupuncture Sports Medicine Apprenticeship Program with Whitfield Reaves, one of the first acupuncturists to specialize in orthopedic and sports acupuncture and the author of The Acupuncture Handbook of Sports Injuries and Pain. Julie is also trained in Cosmetic Acupuncture for face and neck, cosmetic micro-needling, and integrative sports acupuncture.
Julie is a Colorado State licensed acupuncturist and is nationally certified as a Diplomate of Acupuncture by The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). This includes certification in Clean Needle Technique. Julie is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado and the American Association of Oriental Medicine. She has a background in elementary education and earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Colorado (1995).
Julie's interests include treating pain whether acute or chronic, orthopedic or sports medicine acupuncture, injury recovery, and helping patients manage autoimmune diseases, the side-effects of cancer treatment, and other chronic problems that are difficult to resolve. Julie’s goal is to work with patients to create a treatment plan reflective of the individual, providing strategies to optimize health, healing, and recovery from illness or injury. She doesn’t seek to compete with the Western model or other adjunctive therapies, but, rather, to complement them based on patients’ needs. Julie also enjoys providing anti-aging therapies for cosmetic rejuvenation, including cosmetic acupuncture and micro-needling.
Julie enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors in God’s creation, sunshine, hiking, mountain bike riding, and Pilates.
